“We are delighted to invite you to attend the first Gather event, an opportunity for you to network with other small and medium sized businesses and discover new ways to boost your business. We are hosting the event in Brussels.”
Facebook: About the project
In early November 2017, Bubbles embarked on a project to translate a wide range of material, on behalf of Clive Agency, the events management agency employed by Facebook. The literature was written in preparation for a major Facebook Gather event planned for January 2018 in Brussels.
Bubbles had previously proven ourselves to the live event agency with quality translations and speed of service, so we were a natural choice to work in partnership with the Clive team on this project.
The project was broad in scope with a wide range of material that needed translating, including:
- Registration information
- Website content
- Invitations
- Itinerary
- Travel arrangements
- FAQs
- Accommodation information
- Email marketing and reminder emails
- Exhibition stand information
- Legal documents
- Event information
The translations were required in 10 languages, both European and non-European.
Challenges and requirements
It was a specific requirement of the translations to ensure that each language conveyed the key messages as well as the conversational, informal tone and register of the original English material. Our specialist translators have native-level knowledge of their own language and plenty of experience translating similar marketing literature. In short, they were well up to the task and delivered fully on the client’s expectations.
The nature of an event like this meant that plans evolved constantly. Our dedicated translators remained on constant standby, ensuring the quickest possible turnaround of new material, as soon as the English text became available. They worked through evenings and weekends to secure that all-important turnaround, which is a level of dedication and urgency we deliver as standard here at Bubbles.
Failure to meet these deadlines would have had a direct impact on the success of Facebook’s event, resulting in important travel arrangements not being made, and a breakdown of communication between attendees, event staff and Facebook themselves.
We knew how important the translations were for our client and the end client Facebook, and we’re proud to say our teams stepped up to deliver.
The Bubbles approach
To ensure the success of the event, we translated over 25 distinct projects, each requiring an individual turnaround of a maximum of two days.
We appointed a dedicated project manager at Bubbles to oversee the success of this project, amalgamating the requirements of client’s three distinct account managers, and creating one single reference point for the organisation and quality control of our language translation services. This was a crucial stage in collaborating with teams of translators across 10 languages and maintaining the same tone of voice, style and quality of language.
Fast, accurate translations
Thanks to the hard work of our team, Facebook’s plans ran smoothly. We delivered the entire project to their exact specifications, delivering top quality translations with a super-quick turnaround.
